Mission Statement
The department of Facilities Planning and Construction Services manages the planning and development of facilities within the district. Our department oversees a wide range of ongoing projects such as capital improvement programs, demographic studies, long range planning and acquisitions of future expansion sites. Typical activities in the course of any given week might include meetings with the district architect (SHW Group), consulting engineers, city officials, planning and zoning committees, construction and development contractors, architects and inspection officials.
The district’s Facilities, Planning, and Construction umbrella consists of the following departments: Energy Management, Custodial Operations, Grounds, Environmental, Leasing/Scheduling, Maintenance, Land Acquisition, and Construction. Although our team consists of over 150 non-teaching support specialists, we are critical district team members focused on providing safe and comfortable learning environments for all students. The goal is to provide a positive atmosphere for meaningful and engaging instruction meeting the needs of students, staff and community members.
